The New York Islanders have shown signs of improvement, with highlights including a thrilling shootout victory against Ottawa, a dominant win over the Devils, and a key performance from Ilya Sorokin. However, the team has also struggled with inconsistency, as evident in a disappointing loss to the Lightning and a lackluster performance against the Rangers, raising concerns about the team's roster and playoff hopes.
