Summary

Recap: The Golden Knights celebrated the 2017-18 Western Conference champion team while hosting Pacific Division rival LA Kings. Vegas committed multiple penalties in the opening frame but killed them all off, including a 5-on-3 disadvantage. After 20 minutes, the Golden Knights and Kings were locked in a scoreless tie. Quickly into the middle period, Mark Stone found Trevor Connely for the opening score of the game on the power play. Minutes later, the Kings tied the contest with a PP goal of their own. The period was full of matching penalties and scrums, keeping the game 1-1 going into the intermission. Both teams traded chances but neither successfully found the back of the net. For the second straight game, Vegas needed overtime to decide the winner. VGK picked up a power play halfway through OT, which they swiftly took advantage of. Mitch Marner ended the game with his second goal of the season. The Golden Knights record improves to 5-1-0, defeating the Kings 2-1 in OT. Next up, Vegas will travel to the State of Hockey for a battle against the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Puck drop against the Wild is scheduled for 5 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: A weird game in which it wasnt a great defensive effort by either team and it didnt take an overly heroic day by either goaltender, but it ended at 1-1 after 60. The balance of the game tilted in VGKs favor a bit more than LAs, so the right team probably came out on top but it wasnt exactly the high-flying October-style hockey game weve been seeing recently. (Analysis by Ken) Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena. Ryans first Sunday column! Kens Three VGK Stars *** Trevor Connelly ** Mark Stone * Mitch Marner Marner walks it right into the middle and zips it home for VGK's 4th win in a row. The regression to the mean on VGK in OT is happening in a hurry here. Back-to-back beyond regulation wins. SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 11, 2026 Tonight's attendance is 16,768. Once again short of a sellout (17,367). SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 11, 2026 Not sure I've ever seen a skate blade go into the goal and the entire crowd think that was the puck. That was crazy. SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 11, 2026 Still unbelievable that this was 10 years ago. pic.twitter.com/L05yy7ijgL SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 11, 2026 The post VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 LOS ANGELES KINGS 1 (5-1-0, 10 PTS) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.
